Under the revised system, students are mandatory required to complete their One Time Registration (OTR) through the official portal before filling the scholarship form. The official calendar defines clear timelines for Fresh candidates, Renewal candidates, institution-level scrutiny and forwarding, District Social Welfare Officer verification, and final disbursement of scholarship and tuition fee reimbursement through the Public Financial Management System (PFMS).
Important Departmental Notice Highlights: As per official departmental orders (Notices 92-2026-1940 and 91-2026-1941), the scholarship portal has initiated the phased schedule for academic session 2026-27. For Fresh Intermediate (Class 11-12), registration runs from 11 August 2026 to 21 September 2026. For Post-Matric Other Than Intermediate (Higher Courses), Fresh registration is active from 15 September 2026 to 31 October 2026. Domicile Requirement
The applicant must be a permanent resident / domicile of Uttar Pradesh.
Institutional Enrollment
Must be enrolled as a regular student in a recognized School, Intermediate College, Degree College, Polytechnic, ITI, University, or Institute in UP with an active Master Data registration on the scholarship portal.
Annual Family Income Limit
For General, OBC & Minority: Annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹2,00,000/- per annum (for Pre-Matric) and ₹2,50,000/- per annum (for Post-Matric). For SC & ST Candidates: Annual family income must not exceed ₹2,50,000/- per annum.
Academic Record
Candidate must have passed the previous academic examination without backlog / failure in the current academic year.
UP Scholarship 2026-27 OTR (One Time Registration) Guidelines
One Time Registration (OTR) has been made mandatory by the UP Social Welfare Department for all applicants:
Aadhaar & Mobile Verification: Ensure your Aadhaar card is linked to an active mobile number to receive OTP during e-KYC.
Accurate Personal Details: Student’s name, father’s name, date of birth, and gender must exactly match High School marksheet and Aadhaar card records.

Fresh Candidate
Applicable for students taking admission in a new course or school/college for the first time (e.g., Class 9th, Class 11th, 1st Year of Degree/Diploma/PG). Must complete new registration, OTR authentication, DigiLocker verification, and upload all certificates.
Renewal Candidate
Applicable for students continuing their studies in the next class/semester of the same course (e.g., Class 10th, Class 12th, 2nd/3rd Year of UG/PG). Students must log in using their previous year’s registration number and update current year fee details, marks, and enrollment status without creating a duplicate fresh registration.
How to Apply Online for UP Scholarship 2026-27 (Step-by-Step)
Click on the OTR (One Time Registration) tab and complete your profile authentication using Aadhaar e-KYC.
Navigate to the Student section on the homepage and select Registration for Session 2026-27.
